Sequence Number: A1
If you didn’t cry at this scene then I don’t think you have a heart… Kana begs Hatori to wipe her memories away so she stops suffering. Kana blames herself for Akito hurting Hatori and never got over it. Her love for Hatori was a double edged sword, that gave her so much happiness and unimaginable grief at the same time. Hatori hesitates at first because this means Kana would forget about him and about their love but his love for her is greater and he decides to carry the burden of remembering their time together but showing her mercy at the same time. He didn’t want to see Kana hurting all the time, crying over him so in the end he erases her memories of their love and of him. I thought it was the perfect expression of a selfless love but I would’ve preferred that they stayed together.
