A Message in the Hours Before Dawn (12/28)

Shinomori Aoshi

The note is where I expected, given modern Oniwaban protocol. I review it.

She would be better served to be more -succient-.

I knew that she has one of Saitou’s puppies following her and it will probably distract her.

But the plan seems… solid. Coverage even in the sewers. But will ordinary police be enough?

However, for some supposed criminal mastermind, Tanaka’s heir seems to leave things a bit thin on the ground. It would be a waste of time to speculate -why-, it’s most likely trying to go back to full strength very quickly and having to rely on whatever “talent” they can find.

My old ‘comrade’, on the other hand… Nishioka. A family long aligned with the Oniwabanshuu, with a particular family craft. Once it was used to smuggle messages, medicines… poisons under the guise of common pottery or religious items.

And now illicit substances. I’ve found his workshop. He has a number of traps set on the obvious openings. Assume more in the -less- obvious ways of entry.

This would be interesting, if Saitou hadn’t gotten Misao involved. She needs to stay where she belongs and out of trouble.
I don’t leave a message back. She’ll be able to see that I took it, after all. That’s enough.
