It looks like we’re being sent in opposite directions and may not be able to celebrate your birthday together… Ah.
But I don’t forget. *smiles*
Did you know… all those years, I always came back here, on your birthday? Seeing that nothing had happened, no time had moved… so I’d go back, looking at some of our “best of” and yes, even the worst… because that’s all a part of it.
But now time is moving again. Soon, I will bring us another child. Continue raising those we already have, even the ones to whom my claim is tenuous but who I still love.
So since you’re out somewhere and there are rules to follow… hmmm… let’s see. -If- we could have our celebration, it would involve… a quiet dinner, with your favorites. Would we finish dinner? Who knows? *grins* We’re somewhat better behaved now, or, you don’t want to waste my excellent cooking. *laughs*
And then we’d talk, and kiss, and I’d sit in my favorite place. I’d like to reclaim sofa-san but the poor thing is a homework spot now!
And then…? *laughs* Well, there’s certainly enough fodder for your imagination, if you need it.
But this is one of my favorite days. Not only because of what it represents in our relationship, but because it’s the day that, long ago, a bright and stubborn little wolf was born. Did you parents know, upon seeing your golden eyes for the first time, that you would be a man who would live in history? That you would do so much for your country? Ah, we were born in the last quiet years… I’m certain they had no idea.
But I’m thankful for this day. For you being here. For you being -here-. And for you being the love of my life.
