Making Sense of their Past

eiji-skyI promised Yukiko I’d do this. I let myself into the Yagi’s. I should take him for the weekend as it will be a difficult conversation and I want to give him time to think. I’m not sure if Yagi-san will be in, but if she’s not I can always just let Yukiko know not to wait for us and that I’ll bring Tsutomu to school on Monday.
It’s a nice afternoon, we should be able to walk through Ueno, to our old house and back to the Machigaya. I should stop by somewhere to get us dinner and buy tomorrow’s breakfast as well. I walk across the garden.
(OOC: Eiji can be interacted with if wanted. He’s waiting on Tsutomu but interaction is not required either, he will be moved soonish)

  1. I’m finishing up putting away everything from lunch when I see a young man enter the gate. “Good afternoon, Eiji-kun!” I smile. I’m always glad to see him.

  2. “Hello Yagi-san.” I bow. I haven’t been here since the other week. I notice she’s already showing but I glance away slighty. It’s a little embarrassing. I hope she didn’t notice me staring.
“I stopped by to see if I can take Tsutomu for the weekend.” I don’t tell her my intentions. I don’t know how much she knows. “I figured perhaps he’d like to spend the next few days with me.” I add, “I can bring him to school on Monday.”

  3. I notice he looks at me and then away – ah. I blush a little. Since adding my new support obi from the temple it’s been a bit more prominent. But it’s made it more comfortable, and for as long as I still have to go, I need it, even if it makes my condition more obvious.

I nod. “Of course. I think he’d enjoy that.” I’ve yet to be able to talk to Yukiko-san alone – either Makoto or Kinsuke-san has been around me all morning. “Let me get his school uniform together, I just took it off of the drying line.” I take care of it as I do his father’s uniform, as I noticed that Tsutomu-kun doesn’t seem to like it unkempt either.
I turn back and smile, “And Tsutomu-kun is around the side.”
(OOC: Hide exits to go inside the house)

  4. I go to the side of the house where Tsutomu is sitting on the engawa.
“Hey.” I raise my hand and sit down beside him, “Lazy afternoon huh?”
He settles his chin on his hands. “I guess.” He has that far-away look. I wonder for a moment if I used to have the same look. After all I sat many times on the engawa, just staring at nothing in our old house.
“I want you to come with me for a couple of days.”
    He looks surprised and shrugs.
Oh dear, it’s one of those quiet days huh? I run my hand through his wavy hair. “Such a good head of hair needs to be comb once in a while Tomu-kun.” I grin.
“Stop that.” He swats my hand but he grins at me back. “If you must know this hair is of the -noble- kind.”
“Hai. I know. But maybe you need a hair cut.”
His mouth blows the air up, flinging the slight bangs he did have.
“One day when I get out of here.”
I smile and stand up. “Come on. I’m taking you out and we’re having dinner and I’ll give you coffee.”
“Oh really?” He lights up -slightly-. We go to the front of the house and wait for Yagi-san.

  5. I’ve wrapped up his uniform carefully and hand it over to Tsutomo-kun, bowing. “Have a good time – be safe. I’ll see you Monday, Tsutomu-kun, and later, Eiji-san.”
Tsutomu-kun doesn’t have the full closed-off Yamaguchi face right now – and again, I’m glad we have Eiji-san in our lives. And this boy needs everyone he can get.
I wonder what his laugh sounds like? The idea that I’ve never heard it makes me suddenly very sad.
(OOC – Hide exits unless stopped)

  6. “Have a good time – be safe. I’ll see you Monday, Tsutomu-kun, and later, Eiji-san.”
“I’ll be sure to bring him back.” I bow to Yagi-san and look at Tsutomu. He makes a slight bow but hurries to the gates.
“Ah if you’ll excuse me.” I run after the hard headed brother of mine.
(OOC Exits the house. Next post here will be long monologues.)
