Early June – A Letter to Kyoto
Summer is here in Tokyo already; it has been warm here. However my garden isn’t wilting yet, and is looking quite well. Hanako-san, please give me details of yours!
I have finally finished the yukata I was working on for Kioko-chan, don’t the goldfish remind you of summer festivals?
I remember Yuunosuke every year trying to catch one in one of those paper nets, and Tamesaburou would always give him his!
Saitou-san continues to check in on me, even more since I have fed him a few times! He is quite fond of soba, and it is nice to have a visitor.
Yuunosuke, I am also sending the book you wanted. Of didn’t give me -quite- enough, I shall expect you to send the remainder soon. I have enclosed the receipt. The bookseller has not yet received another shipment from his agents in the west, so no news on those others you wanted.
I hope all is well with all of you and in dear Kyoto, please write soon!
Your sister,
Hide
