Kawaji’s Mess at the TMPD

Kawaji:
I did tell him he can do what he wanted. Show some teeth… But I didn’t expect him to go to -that- one in Yokohama. The one who keeps rejecting the Central Police as the final authority over the policing of the all the prefectures in the country!

I close my eyes feeling my forehead turn into a knot as I re-read Adachi’s note essentially blasting my office for the lack of support for my own men… or man in this instance. While he already with his hands so full with the aftermath of the fallout in Yokohama still had to send his entire fleet (All four ships – whoopee!) to Shizuoka. That Shindou is there along with a young woman who is part of the Oniwaban. That could only be the one he worked with during the Shishio incident, the one called “weasel”.

I put Adachi’s note to the side and close my eyes. I have a headache. Obviously Fujita did not care to wait for my return because someone from the home ministry removed the protection for Yagi Hide. But why would he care? He told me himself they are no longer and has mostly severed his ties except for the children. But where would he have taken that entire household in such short notice? Of course he wouldn’t tell Adachi but he should’ve left -me- a message. Instead now I have Howard with his panties in a bunch claiming that the entire Yamaguchi family was abducted. That or the entire family was “hiding” from him. -Another- headache.

I hear myself starting to groan at the absurdity of it all. But someone overrode my authority and rejected Fujita’s request for additional resources. But who could -that- be? Someone from the Ministry of the Interior but -not- Miyagawa. He’s been “detained” as a danger to himself under Tenma’s care. No doubt at Fujita’s request. Could whoever this is at the Interior be the same person who approved of the rogue police now dominating Ito? But why get caught up in that? It’s obvious we would bring that operation down, it was just a matter of time. In either case I am back and for now, no one can hinder the ground detachment I sent to Ito for clean up (no way is Adachi getting all the credit!) and I also called for that other -annoying- one to keep an eye on Fujita just in case. Hopefully he can get to him in time.

“Sir! Permission to speak! Sir!”

“What?” I growl grouchily at the officer knocking at my door. Do they always have to speak like that?

“Sir! Thank you sir! I have a letter for you sir! May I bring it to you sir?!”

“Of course you can!” You dim wit!

“Sir! Thank you sir!” He marches inside, “Sir! May I close the door sir?”

“Fine…” I eye the officer -wearily-. “Now out with it. Who is the message from?”

“Sir! May I read the message? Sir!”

Kami… Help us all. “Junsa-cho! Who is the message from!”

“Uhhh….” He trembles, “Sir… It just says Ookami…. Sir!”

I take the message from him. “Get out Officer! And stop calling me Sir!”

“But sir! What should I?”

“Get out!!!”

“Sir! Yes sir!”

I can’t stand it. As soon as that officer stepped out of my office, I slammed the door shut!

Quickly I open the message and in it I see an acknowledgment from that rogue Police Chief Yamato himself providing the funds to Fujita on behalf of Yasutake! I smile a little. So Fujita-kun, it seems you are at least -trying- to do it -my- way.
