I’ve always been a light sleeper and it’s -very- obvious what’s making the noise.
Getting up i bring the lamp over to check on the animal. It’s continuously bumping against the cage why?
“Are you blind?” I ask and put the lamp beside the cage. “I see you’ve made good work on the cabbage already but you don’t like carrots? You better eat them.”
I grin at him. I guess talking to a turtle isn’t too much different than talking to yourself. No wonder some people like to take in pets. The turtle bumps against the cage -again- and I wonder, can it actually hurt itself doing that?
“Here.” I open the cage. “You can walk around the tatami room, just make sure you don’t get stepped on.”
Well even if I were to step on him (it is a him right? how does one tell?), his shell seems really sturdy that it may even chip my katana if I try to split it open. I grimace a little, thinking of that “shingan” user, he too used a turtle shell but that shell was -flimsy-, after all it came from a dead animal and this one is still living.
“Well goodnight kame-sama.”
