*sets out bento boxes*

*note on top*
Hajime… I wanted to cook for you tonight but I never saw your writer to get word to you.
Broiled mackerel:

And it’s been a while since you’ve had my soba:

Also inari:

Enjoy… even if I can’t see you, I’ll still feed you. *smiles* Soon though… come watch me cook? I like it when you sit in the kitchen watching me, as you smoke… because I know your eyes are on me. *grins*
*sets out a thermos of fresh coffee*
Take care of yourself.

  1. *sighs when he sees the food*
*sits down and looks around wondering if she’ll be by*
*takes one last drag on his cig and then starts eating in a hurry so she won’t know he just got there*
*finishes the inari, broiled fish and soba in a matter of a few minutes*

  2. *enters*
*comes in and kneels behind him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as she looks at the empty plates on the table*
    I hope I didn’t make you wait long…

  3. *reaches behind him, touching her arm*
    “That’s my line…”
*pulls her to sit on him, embraces her tightly for no apparent reason*

  4. *holds him back, stroking his hair, quiet for a long moment*
*softly* It’s more than you miss me… I hope it’s not that -girl’s- fault. *frowns* I’ve missed you as well, with all of the sleeping. I thought I could at least make sure you ate well.

  5. *feels a little foolish at his sudden “display”*
*pulls away and plants a stern grin on his face*
“Ah no. The girl can choose who she wants.”
*-finally- relaxes, grin drops off, replaced by a rather acidic expression*
“Food was good. I’ve not had anything decent since the ahou and I came back. You’ve been eating well at least?”

  6. *kisses him, softly as he pulls away* As I said… you never have to -say- it. *smiles*
I’ll just have to stick to the fanbooks then to see those two together.
I thought you’d need something… *puts her arm around his shoulder* Me? Chicken, chicken as usual. *sighs*
Still hungry? I have some nice summer melon…

  7. “Maybe we should go out? Bring your summer melons and chiken if you’ve started to have a taste for it.”
*stands up and holds out his hand*
“We’ve not gone anywhere at all…”

  8. *goes into the kitchen, puts the melon chunks, along with some strawberries and peaches into a kitty box, wraps it into a cloth and comes back out, taking his hand*
We haven’t been out in a while. *grins up at him, then steps up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek* Take me somewhere…

  9. *mutters somewhere*
    *looks slightly -confused-*
    “Hmmm… It’s a good thing Tachikawa-san knows a few abbotts.”
*gets a carriage, it goes for a short ride and finally stops at a temple*
*waits for both of them to get out and the carriage to leave then*
“We’ll have to cross the bridge ourselves…”

  10. *takes his hand again as they cross the bridge, walking across it, lifting her face to feel the sun and feel the breeze across the river*
*stops in the middle* Beautiful… so what temple is this? *takes out her obi the little good luck charm she got from the temple the went from in Kyoto* This one has served me well…

  11. “Beautiful?” *turns to look at her* “We’re not there yet…”
*frowns as they pass by a few rocks*

    “Bah! I didn’t realize it rained… We’ll probably have to stay indoors…”

  12. Mmm… but it smells so good after it rains. *closes her eyes and inhales* Not as good as you do though. *leans in closer, thinks, -wonderful-*
    *pulls out an umbrella*

*opens it up and holds it above the two of them* We’ve talked of walking together in the rain before. It’s not very big so stay close…

  13. *quietly slides his arm around her waist and nods over to a building*
“I suppose we can go over there. I’ve heard it’s a teahouse of -sorts-.”

*they enter the building and he looks around puzzled -again-. Rummages without asking permission inside and shrugs at her and holds up a teapot*

“You of all people should know how to make green tea…”

  14. *takes the teapot, and looks around for the rest of the implements*
Hmm… I don’t think they have a meal waiting for us but a light snack would work… *sits formally at the table, and takes out the items she brought from home, setting out the fruits on some small plates, along with chopsticks*

*finds everything she needs and starts a fire in the charcoal brazier, using the fan to get the coals to burn while she cleans each the rest of the items*
I’ve been wanting to serve you tea for a long time… *smiles as she sets the water to begin to boil, and finds a container of tea, opening it and inhaling* This should be good. It’s a “thick tea”, or koicha… the flavor is more pronounced and not as thin as the tea I usually drink.
*pours some into the tea bowl*

*With the water done, pours it into the bowl, using the whisk to blend it together just right and holds it out for him, bowing* The one the preparer honors takes the first drink…

  15. *watches her hands as she whisk the tea to what he thinks is a rather slimy and probably horrendous tasting concoction*
*eyes wander to her neck, then her hair and face*
*as she finishes, he sits appropriately straight and takes the cup as it’s given to him*
*bows slightly, HOLDING his breath, drinks it*
*HOLDS HIS BREATH MORE AND TRIES NOT TO WINCE*
*bows again and smiles awkwardly as he hands it back to her*
    “Thank you.”
*eyes linger at the pot, hoping there’s no more, at least for him. wonders what’s next*
    “Should I pour?”

  16. *watches him as he drinks, and sees the expressions he’s trying to hide* *takes the cup back, and drinks from it, not turning the cup as one normally would but taking her drink from the same place his lips touched, catches his glance as she does so*
    *Thinks: he hates it…*
*Prepares another type of tea, a “thin” tea, one that’s almost as sweetly fragrant as a Western tea*
Fruit… *nods at the plates* Eat some of that before I make you one more tea. It will refresh your palette.
    Should I pour?
Mmm… I’m serving you. *moves over next to him* I appreciate the ceremony… but I’d rather be next to you. *pours the hot water into the second tea bowl, whisks it together* I do have an idea to improve it for you… drink… *bows, then takes the first sip herself, not swallowing it as she moves forward to bring her lips to his, her free hand on his jaw to urge him to let her share the tea*

  17. *Notices she immediately starts making another type of tea*
    *thinks: She’s angry… She’s making me eat fruits…*
*complies and eats some of the melon, wondering what he’s supposed to be doing to remedy the “situation”*
I appreciate the ceremony… but I’d rather be next to you.
*nods and lifts his eyebrows as she turns to directly imbibe him with the grass liquid*
    *thinks: not a bad idea…*
*siphons the liquid from her mouth, his tongue transversing the rooftops of her mouth, making a long ardous sweep*
*thinks: I’d do anything for this woman of course.*
*ends the “creative tea session” licking the edges of her lips, his eyes fixed at the open engawa just in case*

  18. *lets her hand rest on the back of his neck as she holds on as he kisses her deeply*
*thinks: I adore this man…* *Closes her eyes and lets his presence sweep over her, responding back, keeping the kiss going long after the tea was passed*
I thought that would improve the taste for you… *grins at the open door, then back at him* There -are- other ways… *laughs thinking of an old chapter*
So… you saw I managed to get us in another story? *smiles* Too bad it was Kondou-san’s story; what he said to her to make her blush and grin didn’t make it in…

  19. *thinks: Other ways of course…*
*stands up and leads her outside, grabbing the melons with him*
I’m sure no one will mind if we clean up later. I’d rather sit outside and hear your story…
*smiles softly at the mention of her story, then grabs her and half drags her a bit too quickly outside*
*finds a spot where it’s a bit dry and pulls her down to sit at the edge of a big slab of rock, overlooking the pond*

    “Go on…”

  20. *follows after him and settles down close to him on the rock* The story within that story… *looks over at him and smiles, then settles her head on his shoulder*
In this story they’re together… having a moment together after she brought dinner down to the group. She tells him, “take care of yourself tonight Hajime… I need you, please come back to me.” It’s the first time she said something like that, quietly as they sat in the room with the others, so he can’t respond back as he’d like to. He answers back, discreetly taking her hand under the table, “of course, onna… and to show you, I’ll sneak up to your room when I come back.” That’s why she blushes… but they still grin at each other.
That’s the story… *reaches for his hand, lacing her fingers through his*

  21. *chuckles*
You really do want someone to sneak up into your bed… But it’s good that you let him.
*bumped a cigarette before quietly continuing*
I like that man you met at the teahouse, living vicariously through him… Is what I had wanted. Too bad that teahouse died, but I’d rather you not be amongst real wolves.

  22. Hmph. -Someone-. Not just anyone. Only one Ookami-sama has permission for that… and I seem to recall that -someone- did manage to get into my space some time ago, but he got breakfast and she got a hairbow… *smiles* That girl will have to learn about keeping quiet… *smiles*
The man in the teahouse made it into Koishii… the writer is lazy and reuses things. But it gives me the chance, to tell the story as I had wanted it to proceed there, where sparks burned deeper… *looks up at him* But I’m glad now not around -those- people.

  23. Ookami-sama? *lifts eyebrows in surprise*
*looks at her for a long moment when she mentions about keeping quiet*
She did it once… And gave me something very important…
    *grins*
You’ve been a very bad messenger too. I remember my little girl saying I get a kiss each time we meet on our own.
    *thinks for a moment*
Well… You seem to be getting your way with him. I must say the man in the teahouse would’ve given you a -harder- time. *winks*

  24. Hai, Ookami-sama… I dont’ use your pet name too often but I am often reminded about the hunger of a wolf… especially while he was gone and I had that mark he left on me to look at. *glances down at the now-unmarked skin*
She got something very important as well. Yes… Makoto’s kiss… *leans over and gives him a kiss* She keeps asking… where is Chichi’s kiss? *laughs* I’ll have to work on this “kiss messenger” duty of mine. However, I couldn’t tell her the last time we met, we were busy taking a bath. *grins*
I think the one in the teahouse would have given her a harder time… but he also would probably move faster. *winks*

  25. That skin will break if I make that a habit.
*takes her hand as she delivers the kiss*
Chichi’s kiss? *thinks* I should see her soon. Tell her I will. Give her a kiss anyway just to be safe.
*chuckles again as he pulls on her to get up*
He would’ve but no need to scare the others ne? Let the ahou go at his own pace.
    *kisses her forehead*
We need to go and clean up. By the way… I wasn’t angry at -the- other girl. Remember what that other moron said? It doesn’t matter to him. I was just thinking of something my writer was working on tonight.

  26. *goes with him back into the building* *starts to clean up, rinsing out the plates, pots and tea bowls, cleaning the wisk and covering the fire so it will stop burning*
He’s not a moron… he truly cares for -her-. It’s too bad she doesn’t realize it.
What has she been working on? The history, or is she back to writing again?

  27. The ahou spends too much time on history out of spite. I told her to stop for a moment.
*leans back on the column, forgetting to help out in the cleaning and starts another cig*
She’s writing something, not out of her petty leanings. *grins* A good change, although of course it has her own sense of “realism” and will of course sound spiteful to her former “acquaintances”.
*thinks: It’s too bad indeed for that young man. *looks at her* *thinks: Maa. There’s hope at least*

  28. *done cleaning, sets everything back to right and stands up, going over to him at the column*
Well thanks for getting away so you could take me out here. *wraps an arm around his waist* This was special… and thanks for putting up with my tea. You -are- a wonderful man. *smiles*
I look forward to seeing it… although, do remind her that I was told a translation would be coming of a certain songfic?
But some people will always read spite into -everything-… it’s their loss.
*embraces him, tightly as he did earlier, as he looks at her*

  29. “I’ll -gently- remind the ahou.”
*thinks: a few lashings should do*
    —–
We walk in silence back to the main road. I glance occasionally to my right as we cross a bridge, there are koi fish in the pond. I wonder if she remembers?
Getting back to her house, I decline to go inside. There are other things to do for now so I kiss her goodbye.
    (OOC: End)
